Brown & Blond is a handmade brownie company founded by George Welton in his mum's kitchen in 2010, and now one of the UK's most beloved independent bakeries. With 60 to 70 flavours sold across cafes, delis, restaurants, and independent retailers nationwide, the business produces five million brownies a year - and counting. Sprint has been part of that journey from the very beginning.

Brown & Blond were one of the first brands to come to Sprint directly. They had a product worth being proud of and a personality worth showing off - they just needed packaging that could do both at once. Brownies are a delivery problem as much as a branding one: they need to sit flat, stay intact, and arrive looking as good as they taste. The solution came to Steve in the middle of the night. Pen and paper, not quite asleep - and the concept arrived fully formed. He walked into the studio the next morning, sat down with the team, and laid it out: a tray with a food-safe laminated buffer wall that folds into internal dividers, holding each brownie cleanly in its own compartment. Over the top, a sleeve - digitally printed, embossed, finished with a gloss laminate - carrying the full force of the Brown & Blond brand. The sleeve system is the clever part. Because the structural tray stays the same, new designs, limited editions, and seasonal flavours only need a new sleeve - printed digitally, in short runs, without retooling the whole box. It gives Brown & Blond the flexibility to move as fast as their ideas do.


Brown & Blond started in a kitchen. In 2023, they invested £500,000 in a new bakery and announced plans to triple production - with capacity to make 100,000 brownies a week. Five million a year. Sold across cafes, delis, restaurants, and retailers the length of the country. Sprint has been with them for every step of it. The packaging has scaled with the business - the same structural thinking, the same print quality, adapting as the range grew from a handful of flavours to more than sixty. For Steve, Brown & Blond represent something important: what it looks like when you get the relationship right from the very beginning. They were one of the first brands to trust Sprint directly. Fourteen years later, they're still here. They sell a lot of brownies.
