Richard Myers walked into Sprint’s studio with a problem. Further to that, he was confident there could be no solution. He was selling exceptional cake from his shop in Headingley - and he wanted to send a single slice through the post. Not a whole cake (although Sprint would solve that challenge in 2025), not a gift box of brownies. A slice of cake. Through Royal Mail. Arriving at the other end looking exactly as it left the shop. It was the kind of brief the Sprint team loves. Within an hour, they had an idea. By the following day, they had a working solution. The box Sprint designed features a specially engineered flap that holds the slice safely in place throughout the postal journey. The net itself is a piece of quiet ingenuity - designed so that material usage is kept to a minimum, with no gluing required and no additional fasteners. A series of simple-yet-clever tabs and cut-out slots lock everything together cleanly. Open the lid, and the cake is exactly where it should be: upright, intact, and presented as if it had just come off the counter. The box enjoyed multiple print runs, some with general GET BAKED® branding printed using Lithography for fast and economic ink usage. Other limited editions and specially designed artworks were printed in full CMYK to reflect lower production runs. Every single cake box is finished with a food-safe laminate, and stamped with an embossed Get Baked logo - the box doesn’t just protect the product. It’s part of the experience.

In the five years since that first conversation, GET BAKED® has grown from a beloved local shop into a multi-million pound nationwide business. The postal offering - once thought impossible - became one of the key engines of that growth. Sprint continues to produce the boxes at scale. Limited edition versions are created for special flavours, seasonal launches, and collaboration releases, each with new artwork that turns the packaging into something customers want to keep. Every box is made with exactly the same care as the first one.
